Wedding venues with accommodation in the Var

Having your guests stay on site spares them night-time drives and keeps the party going. The venues in our selection with rooms or holiday cottages, from the largest to the most intimate, and how to plan a wedding over a whole weekend.

Arcaded bastide and swimming pool at nightfall

In the Var, many reception venues are tucked away among vineyards, forests or hills. That is a large part of their charm, but it raises a practical question: where will your guests sleep? A venue with on-site accommodation solves the problem and turns the day into a weekend. Here are the venues in our selection that put guests up, and our advice for getting organised.

Why choose a venue with accommodation

  • Safety: no more night-time drives on winding roads after the party.
  • Time together: guests arrive the day before, stay for brunch, and the wedding lasts all weekend.
  • Simplicity: fewer shuttles to arrange, fewer hotels to book.
  • Budget: nights on site replace hotel nights your guests would have paid for anyway.

The venues that accommodate the most guests

Here are the venues in our selection ranked by the number of people they can accommodate, based on the information they publish.

In our directory, the "Accommodation on site" filter lets you enter the number of people to accommodate so that you only see the venues that fit.

Three styles of accommodation

The hotel estate

At Château de Berne or Domaine Rocabella, guests stay in hotel-standard rooms, with service. It is the most comfortable option, and the most expensive.

The big family house

At La Bastide de Montferrat, the venue is yours exclusively and the feel is that of a large shared house. Ideal for a warm wedding among close friends and family.

Holiday cottages and unusual stays

At Domaine de la Rotonde, guests sleep in holiday cottages around the former Templar farm. At Château Pimõ, nomad tents complement the suites for a chic glamping-style weekend.

Who should stay on site?

Venues rarely accommodate every guest, so you will have to choose. Usually, the rooms on site go to the couple, close family, the witnesses and guests who have travelled far, while the others are pointed towards places to stay nearby. Think too of elderly guests and families with young children, for whom a late journey home is difficult.

Who pays for the rooms?

There are several approaches: the couple pays for the nights, guests pay the venue directly for their room, or a mix of the two. Make it clear on the invitation or the wedding website to avoid misunderstandings.

Planning a wedding over a weekend

With accommodation on site, the wedding can unfold over two or three days:

  • the day before: guests arrive, informal dinner or welcome drinks;
  • the wedding day: ceremony, drinks reception, dinner and dancing;
  • the day after: brunch, the pool, a wine cellar visit or a stroll in the surrounding area.

Check with the venue what is included: number of nights, check-in and check-out times, linen, cleaning and breakfast.

If the venue does not accommodate your guests

Château de Font du Broc, Les Pins Penchés and Domaine Souviou have no accommodation on site. That is not a deal-breaker: prepare a list of nearby hotels, holiday cottages and B&Bs, book blocks of rooms in advance and arrange shuttles at the end of the evening. Les Pins Penchés, in Toulon, benefits from the city's range of hotels.

Frequently asked questions

Which wedding venue in the Var accommodates the most guests?
In our selection, Domaine Rocabella (around 86 beds), Château Mentone (up to 54), followed by Château Pimõ and Domaine de la Rotonde (around 50 each).
Do all the guests need to stay on site?
Not at all. Priority usually goes to close family, the witnesses and guests travelling from afar, while the others are pointed towards nearby places to stay, with shuttles.
Does a venue with accommodation cost more?
The hire is often more expensive, but it includes nights your guests would have paid for at a hotel. Compare the total cost, accommodation included.
